About Us

Welcome to Mt. Calvary Baptist Church — a place where faith, community, and compassion come together.

We are an independent, Bible-believing church committed to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and helping individuals grow in their relationship with Him. Our teaching is firmly grounded in the truth and authority of God’s Word.

Located in Belleville, Michigan, our church has faithfully served the greater Metro Detroit area for over 50 years. Our peaceful campus provides a welcoming environment for individuals and families alike.

From the very beginning, our mission has been to reach people with the love of Christ. Through strong biblical teaching, meaningful fellowship, and ministries for all ages, we seek to encourage spiritual growth and a deeper walk with God.

Whether you are new to church or looking for a place to grow, we invite you to join us and experience a Christ-centered community.

We are not just a church building — we are a spiritual family. A place of healing, growth, and hope for everyone who walks through our doors

Statement of Faith

The Scriptures

I Thessalonians 2:13
II Timothy 3:16
Psalms 12: 6-8
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the Bible, as it is in truth, the Word of God. We believe in verbal, plenary inspiration in the original writings, and God's preservation of His pure words to every generation. The Masoretic Text of the Old Testament and the Received Text of the New Testament (Textus Receptus) are those texts of the original languages we accept and use; the King James Version of the Bible is the only English version we accept and use. The Bible is our sole authority for faith and practice.

The Person and Work of Christ

John 1:1-2, 14
Luke 1:35
Isaiah 9:6; 7:14
Philippians 2:5-8
Romans 3:24-25
I Peter 2:24
Ephesians 1:7
Acts 1:9-10
Hebrews 9:24, 7:25
Romans 8:34
I John 2:1-2 We believe the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven; is now exalted at the right hand of God; where as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate.
I Peter 1:3-5 We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His finished work on the cross as a representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice; and our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead.
Galatians 4:4-5 We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God; having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men.

The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit

John 16:8-11
II Corinthians 3:6
I Corinthians 12:12-14
Romans 8:9
II Corinthians 12:12
I Corinthians 13:8
Hebrews 2:3-4
Mark 16:17-20
Ephesians 1:13-14 We believe the Holy Spirit is the Person who reproves the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; and He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption.

Salvation

Isaiah 53:4-7
I John 4:10
I Corinthians 15:3
II Corinthians 5:21
I Peter 2:24.
We believe that faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is the only condition of salvation. Repentance is a change of mind and purpose toward God prompted by the Holy Spirit and is an integral part of saving faith

Justification

Romans 3:24; 4:5, 5:1, 9;
Galatians 2:16;
Philippians 3:9.
We believe that justification is that judicial act of God whereby He declares the believer righteous upon the basis of the imputed righteousness of Christ; that it is bestowed, not in consideration of any work of righteousness which we have done, but solely through faith in the Redeemer’s shed blood.

Sanctification

Hebrews 10:10-14; 3:1;
John 17:17;
II Corinthians 3:18;
I Corinthians 1:30;
Ephesians 5:25-27;
I Thessalonians 4:3, 4; 5:23, 24;
I John 3:2;
Jude 24, 25;
Revelation 22:11.
We believe that sanctification is the divine setting apart of the believer unto God accomplished in a threefold manner; first, an eternal act of God, based upon redemption in Christ, establishing the believer in a position of holiness at the moment he trusts the Savior; second, a continuing process in the saint as 6 the Holy Spirit applies the Word of God to the life; third, the final accomplishment of this process at the Lord’s return.
